Kannada Superstar Vishnuvardhan Died


Kannada film industry's super star Vishnuvardhan died of severe heart attack at the age of 60 years in Mysore on Wednesday early morning. He died on his way to Vikram Hospital in Mysore from Metro Polo Hotel. On Wednesday (30th December 2009) early morning around 2.30 am Dr Vishnuvardhan complained of chest pain. Dr.Vishnuvardhan is next to Dr.Rajakumar in popularity in Karnataka.

Vishnuvardhan has acted in 200 films in Kannada and richly popular for his friendly nature and good deeds. After the death of Dr Rajakumar on April 12 2006 the passing away of Dr.Vishnuvardhan after three years eight and half months is a huge loss to Kannada cinema industry.

Stars and Super stars in 80’s(South Indian films) – Get together

The South Indian stars who dominated the screen in the 80's got together in Chennai, this week, and reminisced their glory days of yore. The grand party, thrown by Lissy Priyadarshan at her posh bungalow, had Black-and-White as the dress color code.



Rajnikanth, the only lasting superstar of the era, was one of the earliest to arrive at the venue. Karthik, Prabhu, Prathap Pothen, Ambarish, Mohan, Vishnuvardhan, Mukesh, Suresh, Bhanuchandar and Suman were among the male actors present. Nadhiya, Radhika, Radha, Revathy, Suhasini, Shobana, Sumalatha, Poornima Bhagiyaraj and Ambika were among the yesteryear heroines who made it to the lavish do.

A son’s attempt to know about the life and love of his father, that is Pokkisham. It begins with the son being asked by his mother to find some old document in the house. He finds it for her, but while rummaging through various sheaves of papers and books that have been gathering dust for years now, he comes across an old diary, one that belonged to his father. Naturally, he starts reading the jottings of his father. The diary has a lot about the love of his father’s life. But, unfortunately, the son finds out that the diary is not complete, a few pages are missing. But, he has gone too far into the life of his father to be able to stop without finding out the entire story and what happened. He takes the easiest way out by asking his mother about what happened. His mother narrates an unusual love story to him. That in short is Pokkisham.

Shruthi Haasan’s Bollywood debut vehicle Luck was released a few weeks ago and ever since that the lady had been getting offers to star in a Tamil flick.
