Sarathkumar is currently busy shooting for a film titled ‘1977’. This film commenced its shooting at Malaysia first, shifted to Kovilpatti and then a few scenes were shot at Chennai too. As the film is in its final stages of completion, the crew was at Malaysia recently to film a few more sequences there.
As a part of an action scene, Sarath and Namitha were running from baddies who were chasing them and the scene involved the villain group throwing a heavy wooden club on Sarath. Although the stunt master recommended a body double for Sarath, the latter did not agree for the same and got ready for the action mode with a lot of bravery. But unfortunately, the heavy club landed on Sarath’s leg, hurting him deeply with a loss of lots of blood. The actor was immediately hospitalized where timely treatment was given. The doctors attending to him have advised ten days of bed rest. Hearing this mishap, Sarath’s wife and actress Radhika rushed to Malaysia after canceling her television shooting for Arasi.
